June is the Month of the Strawberry

Strawberries are all the rage for June. Strawberry Short cake, Strawberry Margarita's, Chocolate dipped Strawberries, Strawberris and Bananas are all now available with fresh Strawberries. June is officially Strawberry month in New York State.

These little red delicious fruits can be picked or purchased fresh all month long at your favorite farm market in your community. Gather the family and head out to pick you own or head to a local farmer market where they have done the picking for you. Either way you will end up with great tasting strawberry everything.

Strawberry Margarita's are fun for poolside chats all summer long, but I am going to suggest what I grew up on as a summer treat every morning, fresh strawberry and banana salad. If you have a little extra time make fresh strawberry and banana pancakes. Get picking and don't forget you can make fresh strawberries go farther by freezing them or making fresh jam. Enjoy!
