JetBlue Flight Lands at New York Airport and Proceeds to Pop a Wheelie
I'm not the biggest fan of flying. My usual concerns (much like others) are turbulence and missing my connecting flight. I'm going to add a new fear to the list: The plane I'm on tipping backward once it lands.
Sounds ridiculous, but it happened right here in New York.
It looks like the plane is popping a wheelie!
Replies came flooding in like "How does that even happen?" and media outlets were jumping over the opportunity to use the photo. Video footage from the tarmac made its way to Instagram by Citizen App and shows just how high the plane tipped:
JetBlue spokesman Derek Dombrowski spoke with The New York Post and explained how in the world a landed plane tipped back like that stating:
“Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down"
Thankfully there were no injuries reported, but Dombrowski added in an email to The Post "Safety is JetBlue’s first priority; we are reviewing this incident, and the aircraft has been taken out of service for inspection."
Glad to hear everyone was okay, but that had to be a scary experience!
