Jess Jams With Fret Zealot On the Road

The journey to guitar superstardom continues. Okay, that's a bit of a stretch but we've made some progress.

So if you've been listening to The Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show for the last few weeks, you've probably heard me talking about Fret Zealot, their online video lessons, and their optional light-up LED system for guitar, bass, and ukelele. The LED lights sit on your fretboard and show you exactly where to press your fingers.

You've also probably heard me play guitar live on the air.

For the last few weeks we were visiting different hometowns Stewart's Shops and I was showing off what I learned through the thousands of lessons and songs Fret Zealot offers. Here's the thing, I decided to dive head-first into learning a difficult country song. That song being ... Man! I Feel Like a Woman by the one and only Shania Twain.

Needless to say, it's been a challenge. Luckily, the lessons on the Fret Zealot app are easy to follow and help me work with my muscle memory as the guitar lights up the proper notes I should be playing. Week to week, I've seen some serious improvements and local musicians are telling me I'm on the right path!

With all of that being said, I know I can be playing better. Now that the holidays are here and I have some time off I'm planning on hunkering down and really getting into these lessons. I think I'll start from the beginning and l take a few beginner lessons over the course of the next few weeks and maybe learn a holiday song to play in front of my friends and family.
