Will Mall-O-Ween Be Your New Family Tradition?
I think we're all in agreement that times certainly are changing. Kids growing up these days would never quite understand what it was like 'back in the good ol' days, especially here in the Hudson Valley. One of my favorite childhood memories, though, seems to be something that hasn't changed all that much in the area, and it has to do with celebrating Halloween.
Did You Ever Trick-or-Treat At The Mall?
A few years ago, I went on a serious trip down memory lane, reminiscing about my childhood days of growing up in Fishkill, and how some Halloweens, we went trick-or-treating at the Dutchess Mall. Nowadays, in addition to Halloween night, there are a plethora of festivities throughout spooky season so you can make good use of that costume instead of just wearing it once. Trunk-or-treats, community parades, even the opportunity to score some free grub this season if you have a 'spooky name.'

Did You Know Mall Trick-or-Treating Still Exists?
If you're looking for something different to do this year for Halloween (maybe the neighbors are giving out lame candy), have you considered that there are still a few malls in the area that still offer trick-or-treating at the mall?
The Poughkeepsie Galleria will once again invite little ghouls and goblins to trick-or-treat at different stores throughout the mall from 4-6:30pm on Halloween.
The Galleria at Crystal Run will also have Halloween festivities on the 31st from 4-6:30 where guests will receive a bag of candy (while supplies last) plus a map of different activity stations happening around the mall including a haunted house, photo booth and dance party.
The Palisades Center invites guests to a 'fang-tastic' time at their Mall-Wide Trick-or-Treat on Halloween from 3-6pm where all costumed guests can get their candy fill from different merchants around the mall, see the list of participating stores here.
