March is National Craft Month and is always highlighted in various shades of purples, greens, and blues, with glitter of course, on the calendar hanging in our kitchen.

While I love to sew and quilt, I am also learning to knit, trying to teach myself crochet, and have looked at starting to do rug hooking. I forgot to mention that I am also currently taking an on-line course about creative journaling and I think I signed up for another one on fabric dyeing in August(should probably check my calendar!). I have dabbled in water colors(those pieces will never see the light of day), tried my hand at oils and pastels, and I also do a little calligraphy. At lunch time, I try to watch a few of my favorite crafting channels on You Tube.

I always feel less stressed and a little better after creating something, even if it doesn't turn out like I thought it would. Creating and crafting are big parts of who I am. I've meet some of the nicest people, not mention some who are crazy-talented, through arts and crafting. I would love it if you'd join along. There's no meetings to attend, you can do a lot with on-line courses and videos and have you checked out crafting on Pinterest lately?!

If you aren't sure where to start, here's a great site for what a lot of different companies and groups are doing for the month of March,  Craftsy.com is a favorite site of mine as well. Have fun exploring and discovering your talents and love in the crafting world! We'll can compare projects and ideas, let me know what you worked on this weekend! It's also a lot of fun to make things with your kids or grandkids! I'd love to see what you make!
