Today it is the Big Game. Next Sunday it's the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. They will air live on CBS at 8pm. I have my eye on 3 categories this year. One is open to all genre of music and the other two are in the country genre.

Best New Artist is open to performers from any music category and this year it has my attention because two ladies from country music have been nominated. Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris are going head to head in this category. My vote goes to Maren who will be performing at the 5th Taste of Country Music Festival this June at Hunter Mountain. However, I think Kelsea will win.

Best Country Solo Performance has a great cast of nominees this year. Maren Morris is nominated in this category but she is not my choice to walk away with the trophy. Keith Urban, Brandy Clark, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert all also received nods for this award. I am going to have to select Miranda in this line up. Her song "Vice" is my choice hands downs even though I can't not sing along to Maren's "My Church".

The third category that has my attention this year is Best Country Duo / Group Performance. This is a tough one for me to pick a winner. I love Dierks Bentley with Elle King and their CMA winning tune "Different for Girls" but the Pentatonix featuring Dolly Parton performing Jolene just can't be ignored. I am giving my Grammy vote to "Jolene".

A bonus pick from me is in the Best Country Song category is Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind.
