Hudson Valley School Goes Viral for Their Kindness
If you're looking for a feel-good Hudson Valley story look no further.
Unfortunately, our social media timelines and headlines have been packed with stories about events that don't color the beautiful Hudson Valley in the brightest light. But then there are actions that are a shining moment of hope.
ABC 7 NY shared a picture from Haviland Middle School in Hyde Park. The students at the Dutchess County middle school are taking part in Be Kind campaign, which was created by newscaster Bill Ritter of ABC 7 News.
The Be Kind campaign was started to "have a discussion about treating each other with kindness and kindly." They also want to "recognizing people and schools and programs where acts of kindness - random or otherwise - are happening. And the good that can come of it."
This year Haviland Middle School decided to focus on "different activities to promote being kind." Last week they hosted "Be Kind Week" and ended it with a picture on their front lawn with the students spelling out "Be Kind."
