I don't know what is harder to believe that it is about to be the 3rd Friday in June or that it is still impossible to enjoy a pedicure. You thought wives cutting their husbands hair was crazy, you should see the results of husbands helping wives with a pedicure.

I am focused on this topic this week because according to the National Days Calendar this Friday, the third Friday in June also happens to be National Flip Flop Day. When you live in the Hudson Valley you live for flip flop weather. The days when it is finally warm enough to dump the shoes and socks for the freedom of open toes sandals and flip flops.

I have waited all winter only to be delayed by COVID-19 to get that first Spring pedicure. The home version is just not cutting. When you get a pedicure you need the big comfy chair with built in massage. The warm water to soak your tired feet in that smells like a bouquet of essential oils. And don't even get me started on the foot massage. It just isn't possible to rub your own feet the way they can at the nail salon.

So all we can you do is wait. Hopefully as we enter phase 3 we will be able to get back to our foot spa routine. In the meantime don't be shy about your toes. Pick a polish color and do your best. Flip flops are back officially Friday and no toe should have to be covered. Plus if we add that we promise not to look down at any ones else's feet all should go well as we celebrate the shoe we love that makes up trip.
