A Hudson Valley man who is accused of assaulting his girlfriend allegedly had a meth lab in the woods.

Sunday, Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Samsonville Road in the Town of Rochester for the report of a domestic dispute. Police say 28-year-old Randall Lynch, of f Kerhonkson assaulted his girlfriend and threatened her with a knife in the presence of a child.

Deputies quickly located Lynch walking on Samsonville Road attempting to leave the area. Lynch was arrested and allegedly in possession of pre cursor ingredients used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

As police investigated they say they found a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory located in a wooded area on Lynch’s property where the domestic dispute occurred.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office contacted the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team who responded to the scene.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team located additional laboratory materials, pre-cursor methamphetamine manufacturing ingredients and safely removed them from the property.

Lynch was charged with unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a felony, assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.

Lynch was arraigned in the Town of Rochester Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail with no bail.
