A Hudson Valley man accused of raping two women in less than a month is heading to prison.

On Monday, 23-year-old Jean Carlos Colon of Ellenville was sentenced to 22 years in prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. He’ll also be required to register as a sex offender, for the rest of his life, and an order of protection was issued in favor of the victim and two members of her family until Jan. 29, 2048.

Colon allegedly broke into the home by pushing in a ground floor air conditioner and walked into the room where the 40-year-old woman was sleeping. Her two young daughters were in another room.

The woman woke up and told officials Colon was standing next to her bed naked.

In May, Colon was accused of raping a different woman as she walked near a taxi stand. However, that crime was dismissed by a previous grand jury.
