Popular Hudson Valley Bottle & Can Return Center Closing This Month

A family-owned bottle & can return center has announced it will be closing its doors for the final time before the end of the month.

If you collect cans and bottles to return for their deposits in the Hudson Valley, one of the area's favorite places to cash them in will soon be closing after not having their lease renewed by the building owner.

If you are a household that collects returnable cans and bottles to return at a later date for their deposits in the Carmel, New York area it appears that one of the main places folks bring them back has announced that they will be closing soon. Quick & Easy Bottle Returns located at the back of the building at 21 Old Route 6, Carmel, NY, announced on Facebook last week saying,

"It is with sadness that we announce our final day of operations will be Friday, June 28th at the end of business."

 

The Quick & Easy Bottle Returns family explained the reason behind them having to close its Putnam County location after 6 years saying that it was not their choice to close,

"We were given a lease extension to sign which we did. The owner contacted us after to say he wasn’t signing and that he was giving our space to the tenants that occupy the front of the building because they needed more space."

Situations like this are unfortunately common occurrences in buildings similar to the one that is currently home to the return center. They went on to say that they are currently looking for a new space to open but haven't been able to find anything yet.

"My family has put their blood, sweat, and tears into this business for 6 years and now it was just ripped away. My daughters have been crying, they look forward to seeing you all. This truly breaks our hearts."

They ended their message thanking all of their loyal customers saying, "My family and I would like you to know that we will miss you all, we have gotten to know so many of you and we are grateful for all of you always being such loyal customers."
