On Wednesday morning, Leslie Jones’ website, JustLeslie.com, was hacked and personal photos and information were posted. The site was quickly taken down, and as of Thursday according to The Guardian, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is investigating the cyberattack.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the New York unit of Homeland Security “has an open investigation into this matter.” No more details were given. “As a matter of agency policy and in order to protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, we will not disclose any details,” the statement said.

The investigation began less than 24 hours after Jones’ website was taken offline. This isn’t the first time a cyberattack of this nature against a celebrity has been investigated by the government; in 2014, the FBI investigated the hack against Jennifer Lawrence, whose photos were posted online from her iCloud account.

Neither Jones nor her representatives have commented on the hack or the investigation, and her Twitter has been inactive since Tuesday. Many celebs have tweeted their support for Jones, with Ghostbusters director Paul Feig, Katy Perry, Questlove, and a number of her SNL colleagues coming to her defense. We hope this investigation is resolved soon, and we’re excited to see Jones on the upcoming 42nd season of Saturday Night Live.
