Hudson Valley Grocery Stores Overcome by Technology ‘Bug’

We are pretty sure you don't need us to remind you that the way we do many things today is much different than it was years ago. The way we communicate has changed drastically with texting and social media, the way we shop for clothes has also changed! When was the last time you actually went clothes shopping at an actual store...LOL! Grocery shopping has also changed big time as many families will now do their grocery shopping online and either have it delivered to their house or pick it up at the store.

Online Shopping Issues at Hannaford

If you've tried to place an online grocery order on the Hannaford stores website, or placed a pharmacy order in the last day or so you might be thinking that there was something wrong with your computer because it wouldn't go through. Thankfully its not your computer, the issue is on Hannaford's end as the company is dealing with a cybersecurity issue.

Technology Bug Hits Hannaford

Hannaford Supermarkets has confirmed that it has been experiencing cyber security issues over the last few days according to WTEN. It's parent company Ahold Delhaize USA confirmed Saturday that a cybersecurity glitch has affected some Hannaford stores across the country. When the glitch was first discovered it was making it difficult for Hannaford pharmacies to fill prescriptions and was also impacting to-go grocery orders.

Hannaford Website Still Down

As of today, all Hannaford stores are open and are still accepting all payment methods, including credit card payments. However, the Hannaford website is still down, so placing online orders is still unavailable. At this time, it's unclear what caused the cyber security issue, but according to NBC 5, law enforcement has been notified. When more information is available, we will update this article.
