Great Danes Rescued from Hoarding Situation in Dutchess County

A local Hudson Valley animal shelter was on the scene earlier this week to save dozens of dogs.

Dutchess County SPCA Saves Dozens of Dogs

On Thursday, January 11th, 2024 the Dutchess County SPCA shared that they were on the scene of a hoarding rescue in Dutchess County.

In a statement posted on social media the DCSPCA explained they were on the scene and assisting with a "hoarding situation involving estimated dozens of Great Dane dogs."

They go on to add:

We are working with other organizations to rescue and house the dogs-- some of them have just arrived at DCSPCA's shelter.

Once the dogs settle in, the DCSPCA veterinary team will do an initial medical assessment. For now, our team on the scene has reported that some dogs appear to be emaciated and highly under-socialized.

At the moment, the Dutchess County SPCA doesn't know what medical needs these Great Danes will need. However, as most pet owners know, veterinary bills are quite expensive.
