Flash Flood Watch Issued For Parts of the Hudson Valley
After the uncomfortable heat and humidity of this past week, it would be nice to have a sunny and comfortable weekend. Apparently, that’s not what Mother Nature has in mind for the Hudson Valley. Knowing where your umbrella is, will be a big help over the next couple of days.
While it’s been a few days since we had round after round of heavy rain, it won’t take much to overwhelm our waterways and yards. Because of this and the forecast for the weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Orange, Dutchess, and Ulster counties from midnight tonight through early Sunday morning.
Some of the showers will be heavy late tonight through Saturday night, which could cause water levels to rise rapidly along streams or creeks and low-lying areas. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation as you may have little to no warning it is happening.
Should flash flooding occur, we will get you that information as soon as possible.
