If you can wait a few weeks to get one of your pumpkins for Halloween I know just the place you should go. There is a great event happening on Saturday October 13th and it is the purrrrfect place to go for one more pumpkin for your porch. Pets Alive in Middletown is hosting Pumpkins for Pets that day from 11am to 1pm.

Help out Pets Alive and get a locally grown pumpkin for your generosity. It is a win win for everyone just in time for Halloween. How it works is you donate an item for one of the pets waiting to be adopted at Pets Alive and they will give you a pumpkin that has been graciously donated by Ruskiewicz Farm of Pine Island. Not sure what you should donate? Just check out the animals' wishlist on the events Facebook page. Items include: dry or wet canned dog food and cat food; Kitten and Puppy Chow; 13 Gallon Garbage bags; even paper towels. Monetary donations can also be made if that makes it easier for you to spot by and support this fall festival sponsored by Pat and Rob Sassi of William Raveis Real Estate of Warwick.

Pets Alive is a animal sanctuary located at 363 Derby Road in Middletown New York who main mission is to rescue animals and find them a forever home. Because of Pets Alive's hard work I have had 10 amazing years with my dog Minnie Pearl who the saved along with her Mom and brothers and sisters from a kill shelter in Tennessee. If it is time for your family to grow please consider adopting from a local area shelter or sanctuary.
