Father’s Day Movies
Father's Day is this weekend I've already started my celebration by looking for great Dad Bods. But there are definitely better was to celebrate. Like watching movies focused on Dad!
There are some great Dads through film history. Here are a few of my favorite movie Dads and movie suggestions to watch this weekend for Father's Day.
1. Adam Sandler as Sonny Koufax in Big Daddy.
Adam Sandler hilariously navigates through parenthood with 6 year old Julian, aka Frankenstein, after the boy shows up on his doorstep. Turns out the kid actually belongs to his roommate who is travel in Japan. One of my favorite movies of all time. Play the Kangaroo song!
2) Steve Martin as George Banks in Father Of The Bride
I've watched this movie so many times. It reminds me so much of my dad and I, especially when George has the flashbacks of playing basketball in the backyard with Annie(played by Brad Paisley's wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley). Honorable mention for the hilarious addition of Martin Short as the wedding planner Franck.
3) Albert Brooks as Merlin in Finding Nemo
How can this not be on any Father's Day list? Finding Nemo, the harrowing tale of a fathers search for his lost son. Of course it's not that dramatic, but I don't think anyone can argue that Finding Nemo is a classic. Albert Brook's voices Merlin, Nemo's father. Of course Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) steals the show and has a movie of her own coming out this weekend. Finding Dory hits theaters Friday, June 17th.
