
Tragic ATV Accident Claims Two Lives in the Hudson Valley
Two Hudson Valley residents have died in a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle accident in Orange County, NY.
The weekend ended tragically in Orange County after police confirmed that two residents of the Town of Montgomery, NY, died in an ATV accident.
Tragic ATV Accident in Montgomery, New York
According to a Town of Montgomery Police Department press release, the horrible accident took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 6th, 2025.
Police said that at approximately 2:56 a.m., several Town of Montgomery Police units were dispatched to a reported accident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Berea Rd. in the area of Crist Brothers Orchards in Walden, NY.
ATV Leaves Roadway, Ejecting Two
Upon arrival, police learned that the ATV was traveling north on Berea Rd. carrying two people when it left the roadway and went into a ditch and flipped, ejecting the two passengers. First responders from multiple agencies quickly began life-saving measures at the scene, but sadly, both passengers were subsequently declared deceased at the scene.
Deceased Identified
Police identified the deceased as 37-year-old Bryan Robb and 61-year-old Elaine Upright, who are both residents of the Town of Montgomery.

Police didn't say who was driving the ATV or what could have caused it to leave the roadway, but did say that an investigation into the circumstances of this incident is underway and is being conducted by the Town of Montgomery Police and the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office.
