We tell you all the time that living in the Hudson Valley is just different than other parts of the world. Now I'm not saying that other parts of the country don't do community-themed events, but I do think the Hudson Valley does them bigger and better than anywhere else.

Fairview Community Day

The folks over at the Fairview Fire District reached out to us and let us know that they are excited to announce that they are bringing back one of our favorite events! Fairview Community Day has been a successful event in years past and it looks like this year the team at Fairview has stepped up their game to bring us an exciting fun-filled day that is sure to be fun for the whole family.

Touch-a-Lot-of-Trucks

Fairview plans to offer kids and adults the chance to touch, hope on, or in, all different emergency-type vehicles including fire trucks, police cruisers, and more. They will also have a bunch of demonstrations throughout the day including a K9 demo and new this year, they plan to have a SWAT robot demonstration that promises to be really cool.

Day Long Activities

They are planning to have a junior firefighter challenge for kids to try, a "smoke house", plus there will be bounce houses and other kids' activities throughout the day. Fairview is also going to be offering some important training for anyone interested including CPR, "stop the bleed" and fire extinguisher training for all ages.

FREE Ice Cream and Popcorn

Not only will Fairview offer free ice cream and popcorn but they will have goodie bags for all kids that attend and numerous local food trucks on-site to fill you up.

The community day will take place on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Fairview Firehouse located at 258 Violet Ave in Poughkeepsie, New York.
