He was born Frederick Dierks Bentley on November 20,1975 in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended the University of Vermont before transferring to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he graduated from in 1997. 6 short years later, after a lot of hard work and paying his dues, Dierks was signed to Capitol Nashville.

Since then he has had 12 #1 songs, garnered 11 Grammy Nominations, is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and today he turns 40. Happy Birthday Dierks!

Here's the song that started it all. His first single of his debut album, released in 2003, 'What was I Thinkin'

When Dierks father passed away in the summer of 2012, Dierks gave a beautiful performance of this, his second single 'My Last Name'.

Here's one of my favorite Dierks Bentley songs. Love, love, love this. The title track of his seventh album 'Home', released in 2012.

You gotta love his party, fun-loving songs like this, released in 2012. '5-1-5-0.

This song, his latest single, is quickly becoming my favorite song of Dierks. 'Riser'.

Have a great birthday Dierks! Thanks for sharing your stories and your talent with us.
