125-Year-Old Statue Vandalized at Hudson Valley Church
A Georgia man was arrested after entering and vandalizing decades old statues at a Hudson Valley church.
On Wednesday, May 8 shortly before 2PM, the Red Hook Police Department responded to a call of a robbery in process. The call was made to respond to St. Sylvias Church on Broadway in the Village of Tivoli.
When officers arrived at the scene they were informed that someone had entered the church, damaged a statue that is anywhere from 125 to 150 years old as well as other property and stole property throughout the church.
A short time later police found a man, matching the description given by witnesses, walking near the wooded area by the church. Police then arrested 22-year-old Stanley Miller Jr.
Miller was charged with criminal mischief, a felony as well as other charges that are pending.
