Another winning Powerball ticket has been sold in the Hudson Valley, giving one lucky lottery player a nice payday.

While it’s not quite the life-changing $1 million prize claimed by a Poughkeepsie resident earlier this year, a winning ticket worth $50,000 is still nothing to complain about.

Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Columbia County, NY

According to the New York Lottery, a third-prize winning Powerball ticket from Saturday night's drawing was sold at Chatham Getty, located at 123 South Hudson Street in Chatham, NY. The ticket matched enough numbers to secure a $50,000 prize.

The winning numbers drawn on Saturday were 1, 27, 35, 44, 52, with a Powerball of 12.

Million Dollar Winner in Poughkeepsie, NY

The latest winner follows another big Powerball victory in the Hudson Valley that made headlines earlier this year. In May, lottery officials announced that Stephen Masten of Poughkeepsie had stepped forward to claim a winning ticket from the March 16th Powerball drawing.

Masten matched all five white ball numbers and missed only the red Powerball, earning the game's second-place prize of $1 million. Officials said the lucky ticket was purchased at South Gate Deli & Grocery, located at 1 South Gate Drive off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie.

While the latest winner won't be collecting seven figures, a $50,000 prize is still enough to make for a pretty memorable weekend.

How to Play Powerball

Powerball continues to be one of the most popular lottery games in the country. Players choose numbers from a field of 1 through 69, while the red Powerball is selected from a separate pool of 1 through 26.

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

As always, if you purchased a Powerball ticket in Columbia County for Saturday's drawing, now might be a good time to double-check those numbers. You never know when a quick stop for gas or a snack could turn into a $50,000 winning ticket.
