The question is not whether there is a craft fair to go to. The question is which ones should I go to? There is no shortage of holiday craft fairs here in the Hudson valley, especially at this time of the year. Here is one that has definitely stood the test of time.

The Dutchess Community College Foundation will host its 48th Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, from 10AM to 4PM each day on the DCC main campus in Poughkeepsie.

The Holiday Craft Fair draws more than 3,000 visitors and 100-plus artisans and specialty food-makers annually. Items for sale will include jewelry, fiber arts, clothing, candles, soaps and oils, decorative paintings, photographs, collectibles, pottery, clay and porcelain, floral arrangements and works in glass, metal, leather and wood. Door prize drawings will be held and refreshments can be purchased.

The event is held in Falcon and Drumlin halls. Guests are encouraged to park in Lot D on Cottage Road. There will be shuttle service to Falcon and Drumlin halls. General admission is $6 and $4 for seniors citizens and DCC students, staff and alumni. Children under 12 are free. For more information, visit the event facebook page.
