CT Driver Arrested for DWI on I-84

A Brookfield Connecticut resident is facing DWI charges.

On Friday, February 24th Troopers from the East Fishkill barracks made an arrest on I84. According to the New York State Police press release, 48 year old Stacey A. Bencivengo was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated. Bencivengo has two prior convictions, making this now a Class D felony. 

East Fishkill Troopers pulled over Bencivengo after she failed to stay in her lane while driving on I-84, according to reports. Further investigation from the troopers found that she was intoxicated while operating the vehicle. After the investigation Bencivengo provided a breath sample which reveled her BAC (blood alcohol content) of .22%.That is more than twice the legal limit of intoxication. When Bencivengo was charged with a Felony DWI  an investigation showed that she had two previous related incidents in 2008 and 2010.

Stacey Bencivengo was arraigned at the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail, she is set to appear at the Town of South East Court today (February 28th).
