Two weeks from now it will be Christmas and if you aren't sure if you'll get everything done, here's a list that might help keep you organized and give you some ideas for the final push to Christmas.

If you're mailing gifts, here's some important dates the United States Postal Service wants you to know. To ensure your package arrives by December 24, the First-Class mail service deadline is December 19, the Priority Mail deadline is December 21, and if you're really doing some last minute shopping, the Priority Mail Express Service deadline is December 23. The USPS is also offering special Sunday pick-up service at select post offices including Kingston, Monroe, Newburgh, Peekskill, Poughkeepsie. Every year, I am still wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve and maybe even one or two on Christmas Day. Don't be like me, get your wrapping done early. The perfect day to do it is on National Wrapping Day, or International Wrapping Day in some places, on December 14.

If you happen to run out of wrapping paper, or you want to be create your own, no worries, you can use old maps, newspaper, fashion magazine pages for the fashionista on your list, even brown paper bags (with the store name inside) decorated with stickers, stamps, or hand written greetings. The options are endless.

Homemade cookies can still happen. Imagine the smell of freshly baked Chocolate chip cookies on Christmas Eve, or even Christmas Day. No, I am not crazy, you can make the dough now and freeze it so all you have to do is pop them in the oven when you're ready. Your family will be amazed.

No matter how much you have on your holiday-to-do list, remember to take a few minutes and breathe. It will all come together. As many people have shared on Facebook, 'It's not what's under the tree that matters. It's who's around it that counts'.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
