
Watch Town of Chester Police Officer Jump into Action to Rescue Driver in Fiery Vehicle Roll Over
Body cam footage captured the intense moments when police and Good Samaritans came together to save a driver trapped in their car.
Car Rolls Over on Kings Highway in Orange County, NY
On Sunday June 8th, 2025, around 4 o'clock in the morning, the Town of Chester Police Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
According to the Town of Chester Police Department Facebook page, the vehcile had rolled over on Kings Highway near Knapp's View Park.
While Town of Chester Police Officers and other emergency service agencies were arriving, they learned that the operator of the vehicle was trapped in the car.
Town of Chester PD Pull Driver From Flipped Vehicle on Fire
The first officer on the scene was Officer Nicholas Contino, but also on the scene were 2 motorist who were passing by.
Officer Contino gave one of the motorist a fire extinguisher, Body cam footage shows Contino and one of the motorist rush directly to the fiery scene. The social media post details their heroic actions stating:
He was able to break the sunroof glass and free her from the vehicle. With the assistance of two passing motorists and a paramedic from Empress EMS, she was removed from the vehicle and away from the fire.
The body cam footage was shared on the Town of Chester Police Department Facebook page. Although the victims face is blurred out, some scenes may be tough to watch:
Update on Town of Chester Roll Over Vehicle Driver
The driver of the vehicle, according to Town of Chester PD, is a 68-year-old woman from Warwick, New York.
She was transported to Westchester Medical Center's Burn Unit where they determined that "about a third of her body" suffered burns. The Town of Chester PD explains "Officer Contino’s effort greatly increased the motorist’s chances for survival."
The 68-year-old is said to be in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center.
