Great news to share on the heels of celebrating Veterans Day 2019.

The idea of going to college for anyone is a stressful decision. Where to go? Can I even get in? All questions that we have all asked at one time or another. Now, to get some of the answers, we have to apply to some schools to see and to apply to most schools require an application fee, which can be costly if you apply to more than one school.

That process has now gotten a little less costly for Vets. According to CBS 6, New York Govenor Andrew Cuomo has announced that all application fees for the State University of New York and City University of New York systems will now be waived for all veterans and their spouses.

The Governor made the announcement on Sunday saying that he hopes this change in application fees will allow veterans and their families to "take the next steps in adapting back to civilian life."

To apply to a SUNY or a CUNY school, applicants are normally required to pay a fee that ranges from $50 to $65. With the changes veterans and their spouses will now have that fee waived. The change will be implemented at the next SUNY and CUNY board meetings.
