Adventure Awaits With Zeus at Take Me Home Pet Rescue in Milton, NY
Every month we put the spotlight on a rescue pup from one of our local rescues who may need some help getting adopted.
Whether they've been there for a few weeks or a few years, we want to make sure these dogs find their forever families.
This month we're giving Zeus the spotlight!
Jess' Hometown Hounds: Meet Zeus
Zeus is a 2.5 year old pup living with a foster family through Take Me Home Pet Rescue in Milton, New York.
For the last year Zeus has been in the shelter hoping to find his forever family. He gets along great with kids and other dogs, is crate and house trained and is the perfect combination of playful and chill.
If you're looking for an adventure buddy, Zeus is your guy! He loves a good hike, lounging in the sun and getting belly rubs.
Currently, Zeus is working on keeping calm in public when seeing other dogs. He get's excited to play with the other pups...who can blame him!?
We spoke with the Take Me Home team and they say he's also working on his recall and seems to be picking it up rather quickly. Plus, he already knows commands like sit, stay, down and come.

Learn More About Take Me Home Pet Rescue
As we mentioned Zeus is currently being fostered with a family through Take Me Home Pet Rescue.
TMHPR isn't your typical animal rescue. They are strictly a foster program with no physical shelter location. They help in rescuing pets from high kill shelters and bad situations down in North Carolina.
The rescue is able to keep dogs in safe homes until they find their forever homes thanks to donations from the community.
Last month a TikTok video went viral of photos of a beautiful golden retriever named Emily donated to a local thrift store in Poughkeepsie. It was later discovered that Emily's owner had passed away recently and in his obituary, asked in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to Take Me Home Pet Rescue.
