Word is traveling fast around the Hudson Valley this afternoon but the details are still minimal regarding the sudden closure of Dutchess County BOCES today. What has been said is that Dutchess County BOCES has closed for the day due to an internet threat.
Earlier today Dutchess County BOCES apparently received some type of threat via the internet that resulted in them putting the campus on lockout and canceling afternoon programs and classes. This does include the Adult Education Program.
Dutchess County BOCES on Lockout Due to Threat
A post has appeared on the Dutchess County Boces website that states that They are in receipt of an internet threat. They also stated that they take the safety of their campus, students, and staff very seriously so for this reason they decided to place the campus in a lockout situation and cancel all afternoon activities.
Other sources on social media are reporting that the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating this incident, however, additional information is not being released at this time.
