Pro tip: Do not miss the opening moments of Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty Tour 360. The spectacular introductory sequence didn't make this list of the Top 5 moments from her new live show, but it was close.

Underwood's first tour in two years is a visual masterpiece with more than a dozen translucent screens that can act as 360 degree monitors, add props and set pieces or flash brilliant visual designs and effects. She makes full use of the room and adds another dimension vertically. At several points during her May 3 tour stop in Birmingham, Ala., the "Southbound" singer was nearly eye-to-eye with her fans in the upper deck. Often the band stood on risers alongside her.

As promised, Underwood and Cry Pretty Tour opening acts Runaway June and Maddie & Tae joined forces for a medley of classic and contemporary female hits. This 10-song collage was one of two that help make a setlist of nearly 40 song titles. New music from Cry Pretty (her new album) was easily weaved between hits. At least one of those songs ("We Should Be Drinking Alone") makes our list of the Top 5 moments. You'll see why in the video above!

An intimate fan moment and Underwood's show of musicianship aided this tour. Every year she looks to learn a new instrument, or perhaps more accurately, she sharpens her skills enough to showcase that talent. This year she played piano, acoustic and electric guitar — sorry, fans, but she left the harmonica at home and mostly stayed away from the drum set.
