Valentine's Day is behind us. The Daytona 500 is going green this Sunday. So what's the next big thing to put on your event calendar? It is Paddy on the River, Saturday March 12th from 12p to 5p. Paddy on the River is in Poughkeepsie this year on the waterfront near the Ice House. The Hudson Valley's newest St Paddy's Day celebration is full of Irish food and fun, plus great live music from entertaining Irish Bands. Click here for Tickets.

I can't believe how fast time is flying this year. St Patrick's Day is less than a month away. I don't know if I have told you but It is one of my favorite "food" holidays. I don't really drink beer but I love corn-beef and cabbage. I am one of those people who just can't get enough. I even like Irish soda bread. And boiled potatoes are beyond delicious they are a meal in themselves. I have been known to sit down to a plate of Irish fare that would feed a small country.

All that said my favorite St Paddy's Day food to date is still one that I discovered a few years back at Mahoney's Irish Pub and Restaurant. The Irish Egg Roll. I don't know if they still make it but if they do I suggest you try it. If not you can make your own. The best of an Irish meal rolled into an egg roll wrapper, then deep fried to perfection.
