This was one of the busier weekends I've had in a while.

But I did make some time for myself. Specifically, I made time to go on a blind date. Yes, I know shocking.

However, it's not the kind of blind date you're actually thinking about.

On Saturday I went to Barnes and Nobel in Poughkeepsie to pick up a gift for my godsons birthday. I always get caught up in Barnes and Nobel because I love a good read.

I came across this section on the lower level called "Blind Date with a Book." On the shelves were a handful of books wrapped in thick wrapping paper. I couldn't see the cover, author or any other information about the book.

What I could see were three vague descriptions of the book.

I'm a sucker for a good crime drama. So I couldn't say no to a thriller about a murder in Washington DC.

I had an idea of who the author was and what to expect, so I wasn't too surprised by the reveal. What can I say? I have a type.

I've read a few o,f Hudson Valley native, James Patterson's book and a have seen a few of the Alex Cross movies. But this is my first time reading Jack and Jill. I'll give you a book report once I'm done.

If you're looking for a new book to read and willing to take a chance and not judge a book by its cover head out to Barnes and Noble in Poughkeepsie for a Blind Date with a Book.
