A bagel shop in Orange County, NY, was severely damaged when a car crashed into it on Sunday night.

Car Crashes Into Bagel Shop in Newburgh, NY

A vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into the Blazing Bagels Plus location at 78 South Plank Rd on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., according to the Winona Lake Fire Engine Company 2.

As firefighters arrived on the scene, they assisted with securing the building and vehicle from all hazards, according to the department, adding that two of the occupants in the vehicle were injured in the crash. Thankfully, no employees were inside the building at the time of the crash.

Blazing Bagels Plus in Newburgh Forced to Close Temporarily

Following the crash, we spoke to Blazing Bagels Plus owners Janice and Mark, who've owned and operated the Newburgh location for 7 years, and they told us that the vehicle caused extensive damage to both the exterior and interior of the building. Janice said that not only was one of the walls of the bagel shop destroyed, but the vehicle also damaged the dining room and some of their kitchen equipment.

She also said that the Newburgh location would be closed until the insurance companies assess the damages and issue funds to cover the necessary repairs to the shop. She told us she was hopeful that they would be able to reopen in a month or so. Until then, she invited bagel lovers to visit their other location at 111 Hawkins Drive in Montgomery, NY, which they've owned and operated for 30 years.

The accident is still under investigation. When more information is available, we will update his article.
