A24' Studios Erotic Thriller Makes a Splash at The Box Office

On Christmas Day 2024, A24 released the erotic thriller, Babygirl starring Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson.

The steamy film, directed by Halina Reijn, follows a high powered CEO played by Kidman as she "puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern."

The trailer and clips from the film had fans buzzing with excitement:

So much so that Babygirl became the 2nd highest grossing movie from A24 studio after just 2 weeks in theaters.

Was Box Office Hit 'Babygirl' Filmed in the Hudson Valley?

The Hudson Valley is no stranger to the bright lights of Hollywood. In recent years we've been dubbed Hollywood on The Hudson due to the many projects filmed in the area.

As someone who was intrigued by the clips and trailer of Babygirl, I decided to check it out for myself this weekend.

It was my first movie viewing of 2025, and I give it a B-. The cast was great, as was the acting, but there was no real story. It was just really sexually charged, I needed just a little bit more. There were too many loose ties (pun intended, if you've seen Babygirl you get it).

However, there was one scene in particular that caught my eye and no, it wasn't this one:

No spoilers, but midway through the film Kidman's character Romy and Dickinson's character Samuel have a heated discussion in a car.

The car happens to be parked in a train station parking lot. Samuel exits the car and the camera pans out to show...the Cold Spring Train station!

With that being said, we can't tell if the stars actually filmed in Cold Spring, but it's a pretty cool shoutout!

Blink though, and you'll miss it.
