Back to school season is almost here.

Many Hudson Valley parents and students are busy getting in their last minute summer plans in before the school year starts. Teachers are getting their supplies list ready to send out to families dreading the official end of summer.

Unfortunately, some families cant afford the recommended supplies for their students this school year.

Astor Services for Children and Families in Rhinebeck announced this week that they will be collecting donations of backpacks and school supplies for children in their programs.

The Fill a Backpack registry is open. Astor complied a list of supplies that their students are in need of for the upcoming year. There are several items on the registry including glue sticks, backpacks, smocks, water bottles and class room activity packages.

As of right now markers, highlighters and crayons aren't needed thanks to a donation from WeVeel, LLC.

If you're interested in donating something off the registry visit their page at myregistry.com.
