Do you think other companies should do the same?

According to WTEN, the mega company Amazon has announced that they are going to raise the minimum wage for all U.S. workers to $15 an hour starting at some point next month.

Amazon has over 500,000 employees across the globe and they said that the increase will benefit more than 350,000 U.S. workers including those who work at Whole Food stores and all full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal positions.

As far as the employees at Amazon who already make $15 per hour like the the ones who work in hourly operations and customer service, they will also see a wage increase.

The pay scale to work at Amazon does vary depending on location. For example the starting pay is $10 an hour at a warehouse in Austin, Texas, and $13.50 an hour in Robbinsville, New Jersey. Most of those employees make around $28,000 per year according to WTEN.

With Amazon making this move, do you think that any other companies that have facilities here in the Hudson Valley should do the same? I will start and say that the Gap in Fishkill should do the same.
