After a few winter weather advisories, wind chill warnings, and a little blizzard named Stella, the Hudson Valley's annual St. Patrick's Day celebration, Paddy on the River, was held on Saturday in Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie.

There was food, music, and beer, as well as heaters. In spite of the brisk breeze coming off the river, everybody was ready to celebrate and have some fun.

The United Irishmen, The Mighty Ploughboys, and Ireland the Band took the stage and had Paddy on the River rockin'! There was Irish food and vendors and even though everyone was bundled up, there was a lot of laughter and fun to be had.

The party continued with a special after-party at Mahoney's Irish Pub and Steakhouse, where as Simon joked on stage, there was heat, lots of heat!

While last year's weather was sunny and temps in the 60's, and who knows what next year's weather will bring, one thing is for certain, in spite of the weather, Paddy on the River is one of the best ways to have fun and celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Make plans to join us next year, it will be bigger and better and we hope to see you there!
