WWE WrestleMania Will Go On
Sort of. If you are a fan of WWE wrestling and like me have been wondering what is going to happen to Wrestlemania 36, scheduled for April 5th, here is the latest update.
According to the WWE website, the Super Bowl of sports entertainment will go on with a few major changes due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The planned WrestleMania 36 event was scheduled to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay but will now be moved to the WWE training facility in Orlando, Florida.
Here is the official statement....
"In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania."
If you've watched any of the live WWE programming over the last week or so, they have been performing matches for TV with no live audience and yes it doesn't seem to flow very well but at least us wrestling fans will have some sort of entertainment to watch on Sunday April 5th.
Some of the matches we are looking forward to include...
WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre
WWE Universal Championship: Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns
John Cena vs. "The Fiend' Bray Wyatt
NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair
Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler
AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker
