Woman Killed at Local St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This is such a tragic story. According to the Times Herald record there was a fatal accident at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Rock Hill on Saturday.

Susan McCormick, 56, was killed at about 1:20 p.m. after she fell off a flatbed float and was run over by the trailer, said state police in Wurtsboro.

According to investigators, Bjorn Egenes, 25, of Rock Hill, was behind the wheel of the pick-up truck that was towing the parade float. Police told the Times Herald Record that he slowed down to exchange words with someone. After the conversation, he pulled forward causing McCormick, who was leaning against the tailgate, to lose her balance, fall over the tailgate and onto the ground, police said.
