A Hudson Valley woman told police a bee distracted her while driving, which led to her driving into a ditch.

On Tuesday around 5 p.m., deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 report of an accident involving a car into a ditch on Route 209 in the Town of Marbletown.

Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle on the northbound shoulder of the road in the vicinity of 2950 Route 209.

The driver, a 25-year-old from Stone Ridge, was found outside the vehicle and complained of back pain, police say.

An investigation at the scene determined the woman was traveling south on Route 209 when she was briefly distracted by a bee. The distraction caused her to cross the shoulder of the road, drive off the road and into a ditch, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was treated at the scene by EMS and transported by Marbletown Rescue to Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley, Broadway Campus, for further evaluation and treatment.
