This isn't the first time Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson have teamed up and hopefully it won't be the last. The two country greats have been all over social media today with a video they made for their duet "It's All Going to Pot."

No surprise that it is happening on April 20. 4-20 the date and 4:20 the time are well embedded in the cannabis culture, so much so that it has become a date and time celebrated in "pro-cannabis" town all over the world. Before all the "legalization" the term 420 or Four Twenty was used as a way to identify yourself as a member of the cannabis subculture.

But I don't want this blog to be just about Willie and his pro-cannabis platform. I want to stop down and talk about the two great country legends that you see in this video. They are true country stars and reflect the roots of today's popular country artists. Their music and ideas are the foundation that today's country artist are building on, they are the originals and they are still here, relevant and making music. Once consider the "outlaws" of country they are now the fore-father. And no, that's not just my opinion.

Last night on the 50th Anniversary of the ACM's Eric Church opened the show with his tribute to Merle Haggard and I am hoping that no one watching utter the words " Merle who?" I invite you to take a moment enjoy Willie and Merle's new video and then enjoy the bonus videos below. Everyday Willie, Merle and the boys should be part of the sound track of your life.
