Airbnb just released a report breaking down the "travel trends" for the 2025 summer travel season.

According to Airbnb, these trends include "avoiding the summer crowds and swapping culinary capitals for more local, affordable foodie destinations."

Which small New York town was given the honor of a top food destination in 2025? This Airbnb report is stating that Oneonta, New York will be the place to be this summer.

So what makes Oneonta a top food destination this year? Airbnb writes:

Oneonta, NY, United States, is a hidden gem escape in the Catskills that’s home to a variety of breweries alongside a diverse array of dining options, with a focus on farm-to-table ingredients.

Oneonta was joined on the list by Alassio, Italy, Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain and Rawai, Thailand, just to name a few.

Oneonta New York: Home to The Cold Cheese Pizza?

Being named a Top Food Destination in the World is a pretty big deal, right? Oneonta was also the only town in the United States to make the list.

With that being said, I had to do some digging to see what foods are considered delicacies in Oneonta. And the most popular answer...

Cold Cheese Pizza? Okay, so it wasn't the most popular answer, but a Reddit thread explains it's a specialty in Oneonta.

It's exactly what it sounds like. A slice of cooked pizza, with cold shredded cheese on top, like the kind that comes in a bag at the grocery store.

I'm not sure that's the reason why Oneonta made the list for the top food destinations in the world, but I'm sure it helped.
