Saturday, January 17: Met Live in HD at the Bardavon presents "The Merry Widow" at 1pm. The great Renée Fleming stars as the beguiling femme fatale who captivates all Paris in Lehár’s enchanting operetta, seen in a new staging by Broadway virtuoso director and choreographer Susan Stroman. Nathan Gunn co-stars as Danilo and Kelli O’Hara is Valencienne. Andrew Davis conducts. $26, ticket holders are invited to a pre-opera talk by Leslie Gerber at 12:30 in the theater.

Saturday, January 17: 9-1. Red Cross Shelter Training Exercise. (Hands-on follow up to Shelter Fundamentals Training) at Coleman High School in Hurley. Free and Open to the public. Sunday, January 18: 11-2 Callicoon Indoor Farmer's Market. Farmers, food producers and artisans bring you the best of local farm fresh goodness. Sunday, January 18: 10-2. Introductory Course on Beekeeping at Outdoor Discovery Center at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, Cornwall. Join beekeeper, Darren Fogarty and environmental educator, Pam Golben to learn the fascinating basics of beekeeping. This four hour program will provide information including: basic bee biology, where to order bees, what you need to get started, common problems and what actual hives look like.
