Look: Waste Company Makes Practical Donation to Ulster County Animal Shelter
When you hear about animal shelters and rescues needing donations you automatically think of food, toys, and even bedding supplies.
How to Help A New York Animal Shelter
If you are a pet owner you can relate to all the things an animal shelter might need on a daily basis. It isn't hard to imagine how that cost can add up. Having a fur baby can get expensive.
Many shelters in the Hudson Valley rely on donations from the community to keep the lights on and the doors open to pets who have found themselves in need of shelter. Many of my friends have used their birthdays, even weddings, to raise money for a shelter they want to support.
The Importance of Animal Shelters in the Hudson Valley
Without our local animal shelters and rescues, many dogs, cats and other lovable creatures would have no place to hold up until they found their human and future forever home.
You can help support the places doing this good work in the simplest ways.

First, locate a shelter near you. They can tell you what they need. Sometimes it is easier for the shelter if you make a monetary commitment. Others may find it easier to have you volunteer your time. Then, some have a specific list of items they know they need each month which you can select from and donate the items directly.
Waste Management Makes Generous Donations to Ulster County SPCA
Waste Management Kingston NY just donated a much-needed item to the Ulster County SPCA. The item might not be something you think about until you spend time at a shelter and realize how many get used in a day. You guessed it doggie waste bags. Waste Management donated almost 30,000.
These bags are a necessity and they can be costly. It was the perfect gift from a waste disposal company and I think from the photo they even gave them environmentally friendly ones.
Get Your Valentine a Puppygram to Support the UCSPCA
The money the UCSPCA saved on these bags means that money can now go toward other things like medical care and food. The UCSPCA is happy to talk to local businesses about how they might help similarly, they also want everyone to know that there is still time to get your Valentine a UCSPCA Puppygram.
So look around your house for old blankets you don't need and head to your local Hudson Valley shelter. Make a donation and see how you can make a difference. While you are there you may even find your new best friend.
