Employee Dies After Car Crashes Into Upstate New York Valvoline

A 50-year-old man has died after a car crashed into the building he was working in, pinning him between two cars.

An Upstate New York man has tragically died after suffering serious injuries in a crash involving two vehicles that crashed into each other at an oil change business in Clifton Park, N,Y according to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.

Car Slams Into Valvoline Location

Police said that on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 11:52 a.m., they were dispatched to the Valvoline at 1682 U.S. Route 9 in the town of Halfmoon, NY, for a serious personal injury motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, police began an investigation which revealed that two vehicles had been waiting in line to enter the oil change business through the rear garage door when the driver of the second vehicle in line, identified as 63-year-old Erik Lundgren from Schagticoke, N.Y., rapidly accelerated and pinned a 50-year-old male Valvoline employee between it and the car in front of it.

The first vehicle in line was forced forward and crashed through the rear glass garage door into a third vehicle that was parked in the bay being serviced. As a result, the third vehicle was forced through the front glass garage door.

Employee Dies After Accident in Clifton Park, NY

The Valvoline employee, who was later identified as 50-year-old Sikander Samuel, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of leg fractures and possible internal injuries. On Monday, January 12th, 2026, the Sheriff's Office confirmed that Samuel had died as a result of his injuries.
