Uptown Coffee Closing in Kingston, NY
According to a recent Facebook post by owner Jenna Benincasa, Uptown Coffee's "story" will end on January 1st, 2026. The post stated that after attempting to write this message multiple times, there was no way to describe how she was truly feeling.
"I've started to write this so many times for the past few weeks. I've backspaced, cried, laughed out loud, and experienced all the emotions," said Benincasa. " The truth is, there's no way to describe how I'm truly feeling."
Benincasa went on to explain that after moving from Indiana to Kingston, she found her "footing" when she took a chance on the coffee shop, which she called her "first child".
Why is Uptown Coffee Closing?
Benincasa framed her decision to close, saying that she made a promise to her father a year before he passed away that she would leave the business before becoming "too sad and stressed to grow, evolve and enjoy". She said she intends to keep that promise to the man who never broke his promises to her.
She ended her message saying,
"I'm aware that this is extremely sad for a lot of us, but please be happy for me! I am looking forward to the future, and a better quality of life for myself and my family. January 1st, the story ends ✨️"
Good luck, Jenna, and thank you for being such a great member of the community!
