What Is the Latest Happening On This Popular Ski Slope

I can't say for sure that you will find me skiing later this winter but I can say that if I decide to hit the slopes I am going to have to head to Monticello, New York. It is hard not to notice the excitement around the restoration of Holiday Mountain.

I haven't skied at Holiday Mountain since I was in high school. Friends and I would travel from Cornwall on Saturdays to hit the slopes. It was practice for our senior trip to Canada.

Holiday Mountain in Monticello is ready to upgrade.

I haven't been skiing in years so I can't tell you exactly when Holiday Mountain closed their slopes. However, I can tell you by following social media I have discovered they are renovating up a storm.

I have already told you how they have been updating the grounds and removing old debris including an old tractor trailer truck trailer that was left on the mountain for years.

 Back in the middle of September Holiday Moutain Ski & Fun Park shared more pictures of their progress. They even put retro photos on their social media which took you back to when the slope was a popular ski destination.

So what's latest from the mountain undergoing more than just a makeover? They announced this week that they will be adding a black diamond run for next year. They aren't kidding around just take a look at the snowmaker pumps they are making operational.

They have also said in response to people who have been asking about a motocross track at the mountain that the answer is, No.

Holiday Mountain is Sullivan County which is a close drive from just about anywhere in the Hudson Valley. If you are looking to set up a "Ski Crawl" for winter 2023 / 2024 I would say there are a few other places you can add to your destination list.
