An unlicensed 51-year-old Dutchess County man is accused of driving under the influence of drugs.

On Wednesday, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested 51-year-old Michael J. Bruno of Amenia for driving while ability impaired by drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both class D felonies.

Troopers stopped Bruno on State Route 23 for allegedly failing to maintain his designated lane of travel. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs at the time of the stop, police say.

Bruno was charged with felony DWAI drugs due to a previous DWI related conviction from Jan. 2016. He was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle with revoked driving privileges.

Bruno was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail. He is due to appear in Hillsdale Court at a later date and time.
