Fishing lovers have been waiting and their time to shine is coming.

I have never been a big fisherman, but I have friends and family that get so excited this time of year.

Trout season opens up in New York on Friday, and a ton of waterways in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties are stocked up.

According to the Times Herald Record, the DEC has stocked up with more than 150,000 trout.

If you live or fish out in Sullivan County you already know this. They say Sullivan County is home to the best trout fishing anywhere, so much so that Roscoe in Sullivan County is called Trout Town USA.

Remember if you are going fishing, you do need a fishing licence. For us New Yorkers it will cost YOU $25 a year and if you want to buy a licence for a day it'll cost you $5 a day.

If you head out this weekend and catch a BIG one, we would love to see it. Post your big catch pictures in the comment section below and good luck this year.
