I have been a Tim McGraw fan since I first started in country radio. My first day was in December of 1993. And to give you some perspective, Tim hadn't met Faith Hill yet and Garth Brooks was still married to his first wife Sandy. Trisha Yearwood was married to a guy in a group called that Maverick's. Yes, it was way back then.

Tim's career officially started in 1990 when he caught the attention of Curb Records thanks to his dad, the late baseball player Tug McGraw.  Word has it that Tug played a demo that Tim had cut and a friend heard it who happened to know people at Curb Records. That's were it all began for Tim in Nashville. By the Time I was in radio Tim was on his second album.

I remember playing Tim's songs and thinking this guy could be the next Garth Brooks. Garth was big in 1994 and Tim was showing a lot of promise with his second album "Not A Moment Too Soon". Indian Outlaw, the first song released off that album became Tim's first top 10 country hit and is still a line dancing favorite even though when it was released it cause controversy and some radio stations refused to play it.

Tim has managed to have a career that spans 25 years. I have honestly lost track of how many times Tim has played here in the Hudson Valley. The Times Union Center, Eisenhower Hall, Bethel Woods just to name a few and now he is headlining the 3rd Annual Taste of Country Music Festival June 12, 13 and 14 at Hunter Mountain. Tickets are still available. He has made no secret that he enjoys the Hudson Valley, he even worked on an album in Woodstock a few years back. I think Tim will always find time to do a show for his HV Fans. Here are some fan favorite videos.
